Toronto has Canada’s top-grossing music venues
Toronto concerts are some of the best in Canada, but are we surprised? According to Billboard, Toronto is generating massive amounts of money for music stars. In fact, we’ve got a couple of the most profitable venues in the county. Are we surprised?
Big name concerts generated over $250 million in the last year in Canada. We’re talking names like Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and Luke Bryan. 3.3 million people turned out to concerts in the last year. Toronto concerts were a massive chunk of that.
The most profitable music event was Taylor Swift’s back-to-back appearance in- yep, you guessed it- Toronto. In fact, those two nights grossed $11.2 million. Additionally, over 100,300 fans turned out. We may or may not have been among them. Cannot confirm nor deny.
Billboard put together a list of the top 10 most profitable music venues in Canada. Oh yes, we dominated.
At #1, the Scotiabank Arena saw acts including P!nk, Bruno Mars, and Drake. Decent ‘lil lineup there.
Then, the Rogers Centre came in at numero 4. It hosted Tay Swift, Ed Sheeran, and Def Leppard. Oooh, a little hair-metal getting in the act.
Finally, Budweiser Stage came in at #10. The iconic summer stage hosted the likes of Jason Aldean and Keith Urban.
No other city even came close to the level of Toronto concert glory. Sorry, everyone else, but if you ain’t first you’re last! We’ll just be out here getting tickets to anything that ever mattered. Actually, we can’t afford that. But we would if we could.
