Canadians are really killing it this award season! First there was Schitt’s Creek‘s historic Emmy sweep and now we’re witnessing Jagged Little Pill dominate the Tony nominations. Does our homegrown talent ever end?? Okay, okay, so Jagged Little Pill isn’t an entirely Canadian production. It’s a Broadway musical, after all. BUT all of the songs used in the show are from Alanis Morissette’s 1995 album and she’s Canadian, so we’re counting it as a homegrown win.

Jagged Little Pill follows the story of a Connecticut suburban family facing all kinds of problems. The show is full of dramatic and gut-wrenching moments that more-than-justify the Tony nods. Plus, the rock-and-roll musical stylings of Miss. Morissette certainly help.
