Watch the city light up for the holidays at the Cavalcade of Lights

Via Canadian Festival Guide

It’s Cavalcade of Lights week! This favourite holiday tradition is back to light up the city. Come to Nathan Phillips for the lighting of the official Christmas tree, skate, and enjoy music. Also, fireworks! Wow, what a night.

Toronto goes pretty dang hard when it comes to the holidays. It takes the sting out of a -20 day, ya know? One of our favourite yearly events is the Cavalcade, of course. This is when Toronto goes from Normal Winter Toronto to Aggressively Festive Holiday Toronto.

The 53rd year of the celebration will feature all the fun you’re used to. There will be a skating party, live musical performances, circus acts, fireworks, and more!

Of course, the highlight (pun intended) is the lighting of the 50 foot Christmas tree. We want one of those but it would probably decimate our living room roof with ease.

This is the official start of the holiday season, so grab the fam and get out for a most magical evening!
