This Toronto restaurant’s ultra-fancy TIFF dish & cocktail cost over $1,000 (PHOTOS)

This deserves its own red carpet moment. A new U.K.-inspired gastrobar at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto called EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace has created something very special for TIFF 2021 and you’ll need a celebrity-sized budget to try it. The Alfred Hitchcock-themed cocktail and luxurious King crab and Kobe beef platter will cost you a jaw-dropping $1,075 in total.

The beverage is called “Shadow of a Doubt,” and it’s an ode to both old and present-day Hollywood. The “Bijou” cocktail is made with Patron Platinum Silver Tequila, 1968 Silvio Carta Vernaccia Di Oristano Fortified Wine, and Yellow Chartreuse.

With its sleek black glass and gold garnish, it’s almost too beautiful to sip. The price? A cool $475.

You’ll need to shell out an even bigger chunk of change to indulge in the TIFF-exclusive dish, called “Level 6ix.” This platter is a real show-stopper, with a fine balance of Dungeness & King Crab, Kobe Beef Tenderloin, and Forbidden Black Rice. The plate is topped with fresh Summer Truffle and Caviar. The luxurious meal will cost you a mere $600.

The atmosphere of this place is perfectly suited to the fine dining experience. The vibes are elegant but warm and inviting, with a large dining room and outdoor terrace surrounded by greenery and views of Simcoe Park, a cocktail lounge, and a Green Room, complete with a fireplace and pool table.

The restaurant’s award-winning bar manager is bringing decades of experience to the gastrobar’s cocktail menu, so if you can’t afford the Shadow of a Doubt, there are many other great options to choose from — you can see the full menu here.
