From coast to coast, the true north has some pretty incredible places to visit, eat, explore and stay – but who comes out on top? Fellow publication Travel and Leisure has just published their annual list of 10 best city hotels in Canada and man, do we wish it was a better time to travel.

This year, like those before it, each hotel was nominated, voted on and scored by readers from all over the globe using a rubric that included everything from facility management and service to food and overall value – which is a whole lot to take into consideration.

To the surprise of almost no one, this particular list was dominated mostly by well-known luxury brand hotels like the Fairmont but who managed to get the highest scores in all of Canada?

In first place – The Ritz-Carlton in Montreal. Revered for it’s beautiful views and ability to make guests feel warm and cozy in the winter months, this hotel scored 93.87 out of 100. In second, the Loden in Vancouver, followed by the Auberge Saint-Antoine in Quebec and the Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver.
