These Canadian restaurants and bars are highly recommended by world’s 50 Best

When it comes to the restaurant industry, Canada knows what’s up. You’ll find the best restaurants and bars scattered across the country so if you’re wondering what restaurant to try next, 50 Best Discovery just updated its recommendations. And a few Canadian food and drink hubs made the cut.

The World’s 50 Best is known for its prestigious rankings of must-try restaurants and bars across Canada. But along with its rankings, the 50 Best team has a list it annually updates, full of the world’s best restaurants to check out.

The team looks into thousands of votes cast in each of its resto and bar rankings to find the perfect ones to add to its database.

This year, 601 of the world’s best bars and restaurants have been added to the directory. Four of them can be found in Canada. Vancouver’s L’Abbatoir and Montreal’s Mon Lapin were added to the directory and were the only two Canadian restaurants to be added.

As for bars, those can be found in Toronto. Bar Mordecai and Mother Cocktail Bar were listed due to their nostalgic hotel bar vibes and flavours, respectively.

For the first time ever, cities like Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bulgaria, Cayman Islands, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Maldives, Nepal, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, and Tunisia are now appearing on 50 Best Discovery.

“Each year, the site becomes ever more diverse and shines a spotlight on a greater number of awesome food scenes and cuisines that might not have received quite enough votes to make it onto the main 50 Best lists, but are still well worth checking out,” state the 50 Best team.

And those are just new additions. Overall, 50 Best Discovery now includes 2,632 venues – 1,679 restaurants and 953 bars. Now that’s a lot of new food to try!
