It sure has been a year for Seattle and its sports teams. From the Seattle Kraken to being considered as a host city for the FIFA World Cup 2026. And now a comment from CBB analyst Sean Farnham during a Gonzaga game at Climate Pledge Arena has folks excited.
Farnham stated “This place is fantastic. I’m going to say it right now, get the Sonics back … Seattle deserves to have an NBA team, they should’ve never left.” His sentiments are pretty much what everyone and their grandmother thinks in Seattle which is why it’s great to hear it from someone who is so well known in the basketball world.

Now, this sentiment isn’t totally unheard by city officials, earlier this year there were discussions about Seattle’s future as an NBA city. So these days it seems like it’s only a matter of time before a new NBA team gets to call Climate Pledge Arena its home. An exciting thought isn’t it?
Not even 30 seconds into this Gonzaga/Alabama basketball game from Climate Pledge Arena, one of the first things ESPN broadcasters said was “bring the Sonics back to Seattle, they deserve to have an NBA team.”

I wish Seattle had an NBA team. I’d love to be watching, tweeting, talking about the Sonics 82 games out of the year.
It needs to happen ASAP. It’s been too long.
