It all kicks off at 10 am on Saturday, as Bellevue Downtown Station, Sound Transit and the Bellevue Downtown Association host a public ribbon-cutting event.

They also say that “passengers will be welcomed onboard the new 2 Line for the very first time” around 11 a.m. following the ribbon cutting.

If you need a ride, from 8:30 to 11 a.m, “there will be a bus shuttle every 20 minutes from South Bellevue Station, in addition to the regular ST Express 550, at Bay 3 to get you to Bellevue Transit Center,” says Sound Transit.

“From 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., riders can hop on the 2 Line from the South Bellevue and Redmond Technology Stations and enjoy a range of community events at each of the eight new stations.”

The celebrations will include a bouncy house, food trucks, bike helmet giveaways, live music, fire trucks to a live and interactive mural painting.
