Summer weather is finally back (and hopefully here to stay for a bit…), and we think that calls for major celebration. In fact, some of the most celebrated events of the summer are coming up this weekend, from the grand return of the Honda Celebration of Light to the Shambhala Music Fest. Without further ado, here are 10 of the best things to do in & around Vancouver this weekend.

Honda Celebration of Light

One of the most spectacular events in the city (and the largest live event in BC) is finally back this weekend. The Honda Celebration of Light will once again light up Vancouver’s skies and delight thousands of spectators – so get to English Bay early to grab a good spot!

Yup, the social enigma and rap powerhouse that is MGK is slated to perform at Rogers Arena on Saturday, July 23rd. Might be time to break out your fake blood and misc Halloween decor a little early this year!

CREATE! Arts Festival

Speaking of art, the Eastside Art Society (EAS) is back with their 2nd annual CREATE! Arts Festival, which features the return of their wildly popular Art! Bike! Beer! Crawl Fundraiser. If you’re looking for the holy grail of art festivals in Vancouver this summer, then look no further.

When: Saturday, July 23rd and Sunday, July 24th

With live performances by local talents Felix Cartal and K-OS, it’s no wonder that this year’s live music and racing event is one of the most anticipated festivals this summer. Dress fancy (don’t forget the feather boas and sun hats!) and get ready to sip on refreshing cocktails as you survey the races.

Whitecaps FC vs Chicago

Plan a day trip

Vancouverites don’t have to travel far for an amazing weekend getaway from the city. Shambhala Music Festival

ICYMI, Shambhala Music Fest is happening this weekend at the Salmo River Ranch – a return after a three-year hiatus.
