Canada is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Crown Royal aired a “Thank You Canada” Super Bowl commercial starring Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl this past Sunday, February 12th.

In the ad, Grohl thanks Canada for everything that we have given to the world, from legendary musicians and actors to pantry staples like peanut butter.

The ad also thanks Canada’s most useful (and useless) inventions, including the paint roller, the batter, the egg carton, the ironing board, the electric wheelchair, and even the whoopie cushion.

Most importantly, however, Canada is responsible for creating some of the world’s favourite sports — hockey, basketball, and football.

Don’t believe it? “Look it up,” says Grohl.

Canadians were fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of this ad during Super Bowl Sunday, but there were many commercials that didn’t air in Canada that you can still watch.

It was a big night not only for football but also for music. Fans finally got to see Rihanna take the stage after a very long hiatus during the Super Bowl half-time show.

The singer was visibly pregnant in her all-red ensemble as she belted out some of her most popular hits.

We love seeing Canadian shoutouts on our TV screens. Earlier this month, Jeopardy dedicated an entire category to the province of Ontario.

And we must admit that we learned a lot from the “Thank You Canada” Super Bowl commercial. The world wouldn’t be what it is today without us!
