Last week we went to Bowen Island, and we’re keeping the island vibes going this week. We’ve found a stunning Salt Spring Island estate for sale, that offers the perfect mix of work and play amenities. Even better- it’s in a resort-style community that only adds to the value!
Dubbed ‘Mossy Rock’, the estate covers almost 7 acres of ocean view land, with multiple separate yet connected spaces for you to make the most of. Right off the bat, let’s see what the main home has got going for it.
Done in a Northwest Contemporary style, the home features an open floor plan combined with top of the line finishes and living space galore. While there are only 2 bedrooms, it’s got multiple extra spaces that are easily converted, including separate home offices for the worker bees among us.

However, that’s just the tip of the live/work iceberg. In addition to the more regular rooms, the estate also features a sprawling home gym, complete with an adjacent massage room for after your morning workout. If that wasn’t enough, the home’s bathrooms are up to the spa standard, and are perfect for some early morning or evening relaxation.
And while there’s an in-home theatre to enjoy, we’d probably spend most of our time hanging out in the artist space. This custom wing of the home offers a massive space to paint your heart out, and currently features all of the bits and bobs to make pretty much any kind of art you can ask for. So, maybe ask that the equipment stays around? Just an idea.
If you’re thinking weekend visits are a must, know that there’s also a guest cabin on the estate that is completely separate from the main house. So, if you’re struck with artistic inspiration at 3AM and need to let it out, you won’t have to worry about disrupting your guests’ sleep.
Oh yeah- it’s got a hot tub, of course. But, we’re more impressed by the amenities offered by the community it’s a part of. Maracaibo, it turns out, is a private, oceanfront community that features everything from private walking trails to recreational options (tennis courts, badminton and so on…) to even a private lagoon for summer dips. So, it’s really the whole package when it comes to island living. Sure, the $3,456,000 price point is definitely beyond us, but then again, practically everything in Vancouver is. Might as well make the most of our fantasy home picks, right?
