Here are all of the spots participating in Calgary’s huge upcoming burger festival

We hope you’re hungry, Calgary! Canada’s meatiest festival, Le Burger Week is back and ahead of what will surely be their biggest, best and longest festival ever, they’ve finally released a kick-off list of participating restaurants!

From local bars to cafes each city is in for a very special TWO weeks of some wildly tasty creations in celebration of its 10th anniversary and we couldn’t be more excited.

Not entirely sure what we’re commemorating? Well, for those of you who have never gotten to sink your teeth into a Le Burger Week, here’s a rundown of what you’ve been missing!

Every September, in support of locally-owned businesses and do-gooders, this delicious festival encourages everyone from pubs, cafes, 5-star establishments and Canadian chains to go head to head in a battle of the buns.

With a little help from their friends at Saputo, each spot is tasked with creating something over the top, unique, and above all, super tasty in hopes of winning the prestigious title of ‘best in the city,’ voted by you – the muncher!

In addition to this, a portion of the proceeds made from each burger sold will go to one of two charities chosen by the organization –  Anorexia and Bulimia Québec (ANEB) and the United Way.

Want in? Here are the 10 restaurants confirmed as participating this year – so far, and what they’ll be serving in the name of do-goodery!

  • Trolly 5 Brewpub – The Vegetarians Nightmare
  • Hotel Blackfoot – “Z” Burger
  • Roy’s Korean Kitchen – Roy Boy’s Trash Burger
  • Moxies (Red Deer/Barlow/Deerfootmeadows and Shawnessy) – Loaded Beyond Spicy Burger
  • Redhead’s Japa Cafe – Japa Chicken Burger
  • Anorexia and Bulimia Québec (ANEB) or the United Way – Longga Burger
  • Last Best Brewing and Distilling – The Big Pig Burger

Now, it is worth noting, of course, this list will likely be updated a few more times until the event starts on September 1st as others sign up, but it’s already looking pretty good!

For more information or to see others restaurants and bars that have been added in real-time, visit their website here – and don’t forget to vote for your favourite!

It’s going to be a tasty time, friends!
