This popular BBQ & Whiskey spot is building a second floor bar & music hall

As someone wisely pointed out – one is almost always better than two, so today we’re celebrating! Located in the heart of Kensington, Hayden Block Calgary is already a favourite among many who love beer and BBQ, but in the very near future, foodies will also be able to cut a rug and catch live music on a second floor.

Being built in hopes of accommodating more guests, musicians and double the fun, the southern spot announced that it would expand, not only its beefy resto, but its management team as well.

“We’re excited to tell you that we are adding a second-floor bar and music hall to Hayden Block!” they wrote in an Instagram post. “It will have a stage for live bands and some new drink offerings – but the same BBQ menu you’ve come to know and love downstairs”

For those of you who have never been, Hayden Block serves a variety of meat by the half-pound, sandwiches and sides like bacon-wrapped corn on the cobb, collard green beans and macaroni salad; but while their food is delicious, it’s their extensive whiskey menu that really sets themselves apart.

Offering spirits from all over the world, Hayden Block really does serve the best of smoked food and smoked liquor – but if you don’t believe us, just take a look for yourself!

If you’re like us and simply can’t wait to check out their new digs, we’d suggest not holding your breath because while they haven’t confirmed an opening date, it could be some time before they open.
