Things To Do

8 things to do in Edmonton this weekend (Mar 13-15)

Via SOCAN

We’re going to be honest with you- this list of things to do in Edmonton is not going to be the standard fare. Frankly, we don’t know exactly what to recommend. On the one hand, we want people to be safe and sanitary. On the other, we want to continue to showcase the best options.

Well, let’s see how things go. Here are 8 of the best things to do in Edmonton this weekend.

HOPS ON THE HILL

Sunridge is introducing a new option for adult skiers in 2020. Every Friday, you can enjoy great local craft beers while night skiing. It’s the perfect way to get any weekend started, we think. Just don’t mix the two too much, you know?

When: Friday, March 13
Where: Sunridge Ski Area, 10980 17 Street
Cost: $12-$35

NEIGHBOURLY MARKET GARAGE SALE

We’ve never been to a winter garage sale, so we’re giving this event a nod. Who knows- maybe you’ll stumble across some weird antique that’s actually insanely valuable. Then, you get to figure out whether or not you should pay more for it, even though the seller thinks it’s a fair price. Nice and weird dilemma, don’t you think?

When: Saturday, March 14
Where: Hazeldean Community League, 9630 66 Ave NW
Cost: Free!

RALPH

If the west coast isn’t your vibe, then maybe the east coast is. Ralph is an up and coming singer/songwriter from Toronto, who can be broadly categorized as neo-pop. Hints of RnB, hints of EDM… just how we like it.

When: Saturday, March 14
Where: The Starlite Room, 10030 102 St NW
Cost: $14.99

ART GALLERY OF ALBERTA

There are quite a few solid exhibitions in the AGA this month. However, we’d be lying if we said that we weren’t most interested in Nests for the End of the World, which is quite literally exactly what it sounds like. How contemporary!

When: On throughout the weekend
Where: Art Gallery of Alberta, 2 Sir Winston Churchill Sq
Cost: $14

DOWNTOWN DINING WEEK

For a whopping 12 days, restaurants around Edmonton are going to participate in a multi-course dining festival. Both lunches and dinners are available, and meals are priced between $20 and $50. Check out the article we wrote for more information.

When: On throughout the weekend
Where: Venues around Edmonton
Cost: $20-$50

EDMONTON BOAT SHOW

Looking to start dabbling in boat life? We’re looking for a friends who dabbles in boat life, so we’re happy to hit up the show with you. What do you think, the Formula 45 or the more modest Sun Ray?

When: Ends Sunday, March 15
Where: Edmonton Expo Centre, 7515 118 Ave NW
Time: $0-$38

AS YOU LIKE IT

A new musical is coming to Citadel Theatre! As You Like It is a retelling of the classic Shakespeare play with a little bit of Beatles flair. Ok, a lot of flair, especially because it’s set in Vancouver in the 60s.

When: Until Sunday, March 15
Where: Citadel Theatre,  9828 101 A Avenue
Cost: Varies per performance

EDMONTON DEADBYCON HORROR EXPO

Ever wake up and wish you were looking at Jason Vorhees’ face? Same, all the time. Dead By Con 2020, Edmonton’s only annual horror festival, is right around the corner… Of a dark basement in an abandoned house, probably.

When: Saturday, March 14th and Sunday, March 15th
Where: 4235 Gateway Boulevard NW, Edmonton
Cost: $25+

Well, all things considered, we’re a pretty big fan of how the weekend is shaping up.
