Winter 2024 has come and gone and brighter days are ahead, but what will you do when the sun comes out? If you haven’t already, consider checking out one of the many music festivals in Alberta!

No matter the genre, the size, or the price point, there’s really something for everyone this summer.

Not sure what and who will be rolling into a town near you? Here are just a few of the biggest events that will rock Wild Rose Country in the coming months.

Sled Island

It’s back! Calgary’s Sled Island will take Calgary’s 4th street once again this June and you won’t want to miss it. For more information Hit the link above for 2024 updates!

Beaumont Music Festival

This July you will not want to miss the Beaumont Music Festival in Alberta- the county’s longest-running event of its kind. Featuring only Canadian artists, this two-day extravaganza will have a little something for everyone. This time around, see headliners The Beaches, Dear Rouge, Begonia, Headstones and Martin Kerr (among so many others).

TD Edmonton International Jazz Festival

Since 2006, the TD Edmonton International Jazz Festival has been bringing some incredible artists to Edmonton and this year is no exception. The popular music event returns this June!

The Badlands Music Festival

Among all of Alberta’s Stampede craziness, music lovers are encouraged to kick off their boots in exchange for some dancing sneaks. The Calgary Badlands Music Festival is a variety festival with featured artists Rezz & Dr. Fresch, Chris Lake & Elderbrook, Swedish House Mafia, John Summit, Slander, Chase and Status, and Ahadadream. More acts will be announced closer to the festival.

Cowboys Music Festival

Don’t be fooled by the name, The Cowboys Music Festival will feature a variety of musicians in every genre. While their FULL lineup has yet to be announced, fans are able to purchase tickets to see their early headliners – Tate McRae, Kip Moore, Brett Kissel and Cooper Alan, Riley Green and Bailey Zimmerman.

When: Thursday, July 4th – 14th, 2024.

The Calgary Stampede

From the Coca-Cola Stage and Nashville North to The Big Four Roadhouse and the Saddledome – Calgary’s city-wide honky-tonk will feature a number of stages and artists including The Jonas Brothers, Motley Crue, Miranda Lambert and Nickleback with so many more to come.

Roundup Music Fest

It’s back, Alberta! Calgary’s Roundup Music Festival will take place this July and you won’t want to miss it! Though they have yet to announce this year’s lineup we can only imagine it’ll feature some huge bands from yesterday and today.

K-Days Music Fest

Another necessary item for your Alberta summer bucket list! In addition to midway rides, games, and food, K-Days will also feature a number of incredible musicians! Stay tuned for this year’s lineup!

Calgary Folk Festival

Calgary’s Folk Festival will also return this July with great music, good food, and sunshine. While an entire lineup has yet to be released, the organization has announced that Booker T., Ben Howard, Billie Marten, Cowboy Junkies, Leith Ross, MOONRIIVR, TEKE::TEKE, and Wild Rivers will be among those taking the stage.

Big Valley Jamboree

Set to rock Camrose in August, this year’s lineup will feature country legends, up-and-coming acts and radio hit-makers from yesterday and today. While there is so much more to come, the Wild Rose honkey-tonk will present Cody Johnson, Keith Urban and Lainey Wilson,

Chasing Summer

Chasing Summer will be back in 2024! While they don’t have a lineup announced, past years have featured headliners including Excision, Loud Luxury, Shaquille O’Neal (aka DJ Diesel), Armin Van Buuren, Fisher, and Malaa. Fans can expect bright lights, big bass, and a ton of colour.

Edmonton Folk Festival

Love Folk music? The Edmonton Folk Music Fest is coming back in a big, big way this summer. Country, indie, rock, folk (of course) there are sure to be some incredible artists from Alberta and all over North America.

Edmonton Blues Festival

Big news! The Edmonton Blues Festival is set to return and you won’t want to miss it! Celebrating 25 years of fun, expect music, art and sun in 2024, this event should go to the tippy top of your summer bucket list. Check it out!

Country Thunder

Hold on to your Cowboy hats because this August, Country Thunder is back. A huge honky-tonkin’ festival held in Calgary, Alberta, CT showcases artists, local food trucks and of course musical acts like Dallas Smith, Hardy and Luke Combs.

Purple City Music Festival

The Zen Garden Music Festival

With three immersive dance floors located on Calgary’s Bow River Waterfront, Zen Fest is described as an “end-of-summer gathering” with DJs, a licensed cantina, art installations, and some of your favourite food trucks.
