Happy Thursday, folks! We thought we’d have to figure out a bunch of fall picks this weekend, but it looks like Mother Nature is leaning towards summer being around a little longer. So, we think we might as well roll with it and offer some last-minute summery picks.

Here are 8 things to do this weekend in Vancouver.

Enjoy the tail end of Vancouver’s patio season

Summer is definitely patio season in Vancouver and it looks like COVID will probably extend our patio season. So you might as well familiarize yourself with the patios our city has to offer. Whether you want a rooftop or waterfront patio, we’ve got you covered.

Or pick a great option from the new Dine Out list

Dine Out launched DineOutside, a new initiative to help restaurants around the city get some business. Meals range from $15-$45, and there are even some picnic options in there, too! Grab a great meal and go enjoy it in a park? As long as the air quality is ok, we’re game.

Take a Street Art Tour

One good thing about Mural Fest is that what it creates exists year-round. So, maybe this weekend you should go on a little self-guided tour of the stunning new murals from this year. It’s easier than ever, too, since a whopping 9 neighbourhoods have now been covered.

When: Whenever you’d like to!
Where: All around Vancouver
Cost: Free!

Support the Mountain Film Festival

Want to switch up your streaming schedule this weekend? One way to do it is with a documentary double-feature, including this year’s winner for Best Canadian Film. It’s called ‘The Endless Chain’, and it offers a firsthand look at new heights in paragliding.

Hit up a gorgeous U-Pick near Vancouver

There are tons of U-Pick farms around Vancouver, and September is when we get right into harvest season. Whether you’re looking for berries for dessert or veggies for the meal itself, you’ll have no trouble finding a spot that works for you. Plus, you’re supporting local farmers!

Watch a live show at the Fringe Festival

The Vancouver Fringe Festival is returning for a series of shows this fall. The game plan? Head to smaller venues and space out performances to reduce the risk of transmission. Tickets are now available, too!

Explore the Chilliwack Sunflower Festival

Nothing says early September like a sunflower (don’t ask us why) and luckily there’s a whole field of them to explore in Chilliwack. Not only do they have thousands of beautiful sunflowers, but they also have other gardens and flowers for you to check out.

When: Until Sunday, September 13
Where: Chilliwack, BC

Go see a new art exhibition

The new exhibition at The Polygon Gallery officially opened last Friday! Titled “Enter the Third Realm”, the exhibition is a group show highlighting the works of contemporary East and Southeast Asian artists. We guarantee it’ll be worth the trip over there.
