Things To Do

8 things to do in Vancouver this weekend (November 8-10)

Via Whistler Cornucopia Facebook

Hello folks, how’s the week been? Are you ready for our list of the things to do in Vancouver this weekend? We sure are, for some reason we’re extra excited to get out and about. Maybe we’re just trying to ignore the changing seasons by keeping busy.

Here are 8 things to do in Vancouver this weekend.

Jason Mraz

This Grammy-winning artist needs no introduction or hype. Just know that his permanently optimistic sound hasn’t changed since the days of “I’m Yours”.

When: Friday, November 8
Where: Queen Elizabeth Theatre
Tickets: $61.75

Vancouver Canucks

Fingers crossed that the Canucks hot start will turn into an even hotter season. They face off against the Devils on Sunday, which is perfect for those of you who don’t want to stay out late watching hockey on a weeknight.

When: Sunday, November 10
Where: Rogers Arena
Tickets: $87.50

Dune Rats

Hard switch, as this Australian punk band is relatively unknown. We do know, though, that they made one of the funniest music videos of all time. And yes, we do share our sense of humour with a 14 year old, before you ask.

When: Friday, November 8
Where: The Rickshaw Theatre
Tickets: $20

Twin Sails Brewing 4-Year Anniversary

Another beer-related event, but this time featuring a Port Moody mainstay. To celebrate 4 great years, Twin Sails will be releasing at least 10(!!) new beers for guests to try. Before you ask, yes, your ticket includes any samples you want to try.

When: Saturday, November 9
Where: 2821 Murray Street, Port Moody
Tickets: $60

Yung Bae

His name is a little cringeworthy these days, but his music definitely isn’t. We’re talking a mixture of disco and funk, packaged with an EDM sensibility that can only come from ‘life online’. Looking to dance this month? This is a great bet.

When: Friday, November 8
Where: Celebrities Underground
Cost: $25

LUZIA by Cirque du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil never disappoints, and LUZIA might just be the best one they’ve ever done. Our coworkers in Calgary went to the show, and hoo boy, they cannot stop talking about it.

When: Shows throughout the weekend
Where: Under the Big Top, Concord Pacific Place
Tickets: Start at $54

Cornucopia

If you’re planning a fall trip to Whistler, then try and time it around this massive festival. It’s 10 days straight of special dinners, food and drinks tastings, and special seminars. Basically, everything a foodie could ask for.

When: On throughout the weekend
Where: Venues around Whistler
Tickets: Vary per event

Dine Railtown

Vancouver’s newest food festival will see 9 restaurants and cafes create special dishes in support of the Look Out Society. Some of Vancouver’s best restaurants plus giving back to the community? Sign us up.

When: On throughout the weekend
Where: Venues around Railtown

Well hey, that’s shaping up to be a pretty fantastic weekend. This go-around, we’re going to burn some of our paycheque at Dine Railtown, maybe after the Canucks on Sunday. We deserve a nice meal and it’s high time that we treated ourselves.
