Considering the new Art Gallery is going to come with a $350 million price tag, you maybe want to head down there this weekend and see what kind of dreams money can buy. The gallery is hosting a free-to-attend preview of the final plans for the new space, and it’s going to be a doozy.

It’s obvious that the Vancouver Art Gallery is ready to solidify their place amongst North America’s elite museums. With a design from famed firm Herzog and de Meuron, the gallery aims to become a culturally significant space for Vancouver and BC at large.

So, now’s the time to figure how exactly they plan to accomplish that. Ask them want kind of community programs they’d like to have, what the permanent galleries will feature, and how they plan to educate the non-savvy about the zany world of art.

Personally, we’re going to ask that if we beat the Chan family’s $40M donation, will they instead name the new building after us? The Curiocity Centre for the Visual Arts. It has a ring to it, no?
