The Toronto Caribbean Carnival just kicked off a whole month of partying!
Think we’d rock a feather bra? We think so. The Toronto Caribbean Carnival (formerly/still lovingly called Caribana) kicked off this week, which means a whole month of music, food, street dancing, and really heavy headpieces has officially started!
There aren’t many things we’d call an “all-out spectacle.” Maybe that time our cat got into the catnip and the edibles at the same time. Otherwise, Caribana is pretty much the one! You’ve never seen so many sequins in one place, except maybe on Rupaul’s Drag Race.
You definitely can’t miss the Grand Parade, which will happen the morning of August 3rd. It’s the largest street performance parade of its kind on the continent, no biggie.
Also, the King and Queen showcase on August 1st is a great time to be reminded just how good some people look in comparison to us. If we had that much skin showing the police would be called.
Then, definitely swing by Beyond the Mas, the Caribbean-style masquerade party on July 26!
We don’t get enough excuses to have wicked fun, and this is definitely one. Whip out that purple shimmer lipstick you bought seven years ago at Claire’s and let’s go!
When: Now until Sunday, August 11
