It’s official! After two years of hybrid celebrations, Toronto’s New Year’s Eve party will return this year to ring in 2023.
The City confirmed to Curiocity in an emailed statement that the city-wide event will make a comeback on December 31st, 2022.
In years past, the New Year’s Eve bash was held at Nathan Phillips Square, with live DJ skating, musical performances, live entertainment, and a dazzling fireworks show at midnight.

As for what’s on the agenda this year, it looks like we’ll have to stay tuned for updates, but we’re confident that the City has some exciting plans in store.
Also set to make a comeback this year is the Cavalcade of Lights, “an annual event that marks the official start to the holiday season in Toronto,” says the City’s website.
“Nathan Phillips Square comes to life with a glittering tree, ice skating and, of course, lights.” It’s been a beloved tradition in Toronto for many years and we’re thrilled to see it return.
Toronto will also welcome back the iconic Distillery District Winter Village this holiday season, as well as the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
