Vancouver’s free Eastside Culture Crawl is back next month with over 500 artists

Drumroll, please! The arts & culture event of the year is officially making a comeback this fall. Get ready for Vancouver’s beloved Eastside Culture Crawl happening this November, which will feature the work of 500+ local artists.

“The challenges of the past few years have certainly proven that artists are resilient and adaptable,” says Esther Rausenberg, Artistic & Executive Director of the Eastside Arts Society. “Many have taken the time to reflect on their art practice, taking it to the next level by exploring new avenues and fresh approaches. We can’t wait to share these new revelations in the 26th edition of the Culture Crawl!”

The crawl will take place over the course of four days in 80 different buildings across Vancouver’s eastside. Best of all? The visual arts, design, and crafts fest is completely free to attend!

With open studios spanning Columbia Street, 2nd Avenue, Victoria Drive, and the Waterfront – this year’s event will feature the Crawl’s largest line-up of artists and venues to date. And there will be no shortage of mediums and exhibits to check out! Expect everything from acrylic paintings, sculptures, photography, and mixed-media pieces to glassware and jewelry.

Special events

And as for this year’s lineup of events, guests can expect to kick things off with their annual fundraiser, Take Flight, featuring the wildly popular Art Roulette (October 11th to November 5th).

There will also be a virtual Talking Art series with three different focuses, an online film/video series called Moving Art, and a salon-style preview event curated at the Cultch, the Firehall, Alternative Creations, the Pendulum Gallery – and new this year, the Strange Fellows Gallery.
