If you aren’t already proud to be a Seattleite, that’s about to change. Because Seattle is now the most vaccinated city in America. When you think about it, that’s pretty dang crazy considering that we were one of the first cities to be hit extremely hard by the pandemic. But this just goes to show that things are indeed looking up.

Yesterday, Mayor Jenny Durkan announced that Seattle is the first major city in the nation to fully vaccinate 70% of its residents over the age of 12.  That means 78% of Seattle’s residents have begun the vaccination process but have not completed it. Regardless, both of those numbers are something that we should all be extremely proud of.

What’s extra cool about this is that earlier this year Mayor Jenny Durkan stated that she would like for Seattle to “become the first major American city to fully vaccinate 70 percent of its residents”. Now that’s come to fruition and all of us will reap the benefits thanks to a safer and healthier population. Not to mention, getting vaxxed these days can score you some pretty sweet prizes.

So if you’re one of the people who have received the 249,000 vaccinations, give yourself a pat on the back. If you’re still waiting to get vaxxed, the time is now, and getting vaccinated is easier than ever. You can learn more about this exciting news by clicking here.
