Goly folks, the incentives for being vaccinated in Washington just keep getting bigger and bigger. Yesterday Governor Jay Inslee announced that the state would be giving away more than $2 million in prizes in the “Shot of a Lifetime” giveaway.  As you might have guessed, this giveaway is an incentive to have people get their COVID-19 vaccines.

The giveaway will take place during June and is in partnership with state agencies, tech companies, sports teams, and more across the state. Just a few of the things that you could win include lottery cash drawings (prizes totaling $2 million), higher education tuition and expense assistance, sports tickets and gear, gift cards, plane tickets, game systems, and smart speakers.

When it comes to cash prizes, $250k will be given out each week for 4 weeks with a final drawing of a $1 million prize.

What’s pretty dang cool about this giveaway is the fact that Vaccinated Washingtonians don’t need to do anything. Because the Lottery will automatically gather names from the DOH statewide immunization database so just sit back, relax and see if you win. If this doesn’t make you want to get vaccinated, we don’t know what will.
