How about some good mid-week news? We gotcha. Seattle is in the news cycle once again for something positive. A new ranking of America’s best cities has been released and Seattle is high on the list. Despite our ups and downs, it’s a well-deserved ranking, let’s get into the details.
The new ranking comes from Resonance Consultancy. They rank US cities using a combination of statistical performance and qualitative evaluations by locals and visitors. It’s broken up into 25 areas grouped into six core categories. So they’re really getting those nitty-gritty details.

The six core categories are place, programming, prosperity, product, people, and promotion. Sub-components of those categories include factors like weather, attractions, culture, education, income, and social media presence. So where did Seattle rank?
Seattle came in 12th place out of 100 cities which is pretty dang good. We were described with positives like “self-reliant” and “resilient”. It was also noted that our unemployment ranking has gone down and we have a strong market for commercial leases. Good to know!
