Howdy Bagel just opened its first permanent location and here’s where to find it

Seattle has plenty of new openings ranging from French bakeries to new cake shop concepts. However, sometimes its good to get out of town and go south. You may have your preconceived notions about Tacoma, but the truth is the area is way more affordable and just got a brand new spot, Howdy Bagel.

Howdy Bagel is the lovechild of Jake Carter and his partner, Daniel Blagovich. The duo had been doing pop ups prior, gaining a following for their delicious bagels.

So what kind of bagels are they? Howdy serves up hand rolled, long fermented, boiled and baked bagels. They describe them as a cross between a New York and Montreal style bagel. What’s more, all of their bagels are vegan with the exception of the cheese bagels which contain dairy. They do not use honey or any sort of egg wash on their bagels.

Beyond selling individual bagels, the location also sells bagel sandwiches like egg and cheese as well as lox. If you’re hungry and in the mood it looks like its time to drive to Tacoma. Enjoy!
