Seattle has plenty of great breakfast spots but few match up to Ludi’s – a downtown diner known for its Filipino breakfast items. The diner, which opened in the 1930s and closed in 2019, is officially returning just a few blocks from its original location. Here’s what we know about the new spot so far.
Ludi’s closed in 2019 due to a fire, and then there was the pandemic. During 2021, the restaurant did a few pop-ups under the name “HYUP,” but is ready to make a full comeback.
According to a recent post, the new location will be on 2nd Ave & Stewart and will be opening “very soon.” The restaurant has an active website, however, it does not currently list the menu.

That being said, Ludi’s had several outstandingly popular menu items like their ube pancakes. It seems safe to assume the classic pancakes will be back along with other fan favorites and new items.
As always we will keep you updated with any and all new information as it becomes available.
