We hope that you’ve had a good weekend, folks! And, that you’re ready for another week of living it up in Edmonton. If not, then maybe we can help your excitement with a few options around the city.

Here are 8 things to do in Edmonton this week.

CATCH A DRIVE-IN MOVIE FOR CHARITY

Drive-in movie opportunities have been few and far between this something. So, we’re super excited about Star Wars: Rogue One coming to town on Wednesday. The best part? All proceeds go towards the Edmonton Food Bank!

When: Wednesday, September 16
Where: Southgate Centre, 5015 111 Street Northwest
Cost: $20 suggested donation per car

BRING BEERFEST TO YOU

We’re missing Beerfest about as much as anyone. So, the new Beerfest in a Box promotion might be the solution we’re looking for. A variety pack of Albertan beer? That sounds like a great way to try new brews while supporting local businesses.

When: As long as supplies last
Where: Participating Sobeys and Safeway liquor store locations

BUY A RAFFLE TICKET

While you won’t become a multimillionaire, the Edmonton Zoo’s raffle does let you pick what animal you want the other half of the money to support. And while we love amur tigers, we have to go with the frogs. Don’t believe us? Take a trip to the zoo this week and check both out for yourself.

When: Ongoing
Where: Online
Cost: $10 and up

OR HIT SOME GOLF BALLS

This is another fun way to support a worthy cause, but this time it’s the Edmonton Humane Society. Head down to the Victoria Golf Course for an evening on the driving range, plus an optional dinner afterward. The best part? Dogs are allowed!

When: Friday, September 18
Where: 12130 River Valley Rd NW
Cost: $300- table of 4 (dinner included)

CHECK OUT SOME ART

If things get a little chilly this week, then you should spend a few hours at the Art Gallery of Alberta one afternoon. Plus, the exhibitions range from early Rembrandt works to up and coming contemporary artists. It’s got something artistic for everyone!

When: Open Thursday to Sunday
Where: 2 Sir Winston Churchill Square
Cost: $14

ENJOY SOME DINNER THEATRE

Dinner theatre returns to Edmonton this month! The Mayfield Dinner Theatre is putting on an adaptation of “Playing With Fire: The Theo Fleury Story”. What’s more, this show is apparently going to be entirely on ice, which is a fun visual bonus.

When: Showtimes starting September 8
Where: 16615 109 Avenue NW
Cost: $77 and up (meal included)

EXPERIENCE CULTURE DAYS

The Alberta Culture Days are going on all month long. With a focus on virtual programs and events, this celebration offers a ticket into some of the province’s lesser-known activities and experiences. Think drum workshops and artist talks.

When: Events ongoing
Where: Virtual and in-person events
Cost: Free!

WALK THE U OF A GARDEN BEFORE SUMMER ENDS

Head down and enjoy 25,000 different kinds of plants spread out over 240 acres. This might be one of the most fun places to play ‘I Spy’ in the province. Plus, you could check things out later in the month and enjoy all the leaves changing colour.

When: Open daily, reserve your visit online beforehand
Where: Parkland County, Alberta
Cost: $18.75

And those are our picks for this week in Edmonton! We’re hoping that you make the most of it, folks!
