Poll: Just over half of Canadians want a 4-day work week
A new poll from the Angus Reid Institute has found that 53% of Canadians, just over half, are in favour of a shorter work week. What’s more, only one in five Canadians thinks that it’s a bad idea. Let’s see what’s up!
The 30 hour, 4-day work week has been gaining traction in Canada over the past little bit. However, different groups have got different levels of support.

For example, support for shortening the work week rises as income levels drop. Although, the difference is relatively small, with 64% of those with a low income and 47% with a high income supporting. Unsurprisingly, younger people are more likely to be in favour of shortening the week as well.
There’s a lot of moving parts here! Work/life balance, domestic tourism initiatives during a pandemic… the whole kit and caboodle!
