Some ICE District restaurants may be added to Edmonton’s NHL bubble

Via @edmontonoilers &icedistrict Instagram

Well, this should come as no surprise but the NHL is looking to add a few Edmonton restaurants to its bubble when the return to play gets going here in town. This would mean that the restaurants are closed to the general public, so fingers crossed its not any of your favourites!

Common sense would have us thinking that restaurants in the ICE District would be the most obvious pick. Also, teams will be split between the Sutton Place Hotel and the JW Marriot, meaning proximity to the ICE District is already a part of the plan.

So, what restaurants will be chosen? Well, according to CTV, the owners of Sabor Restaurant have been in contact with the NHL. Mercer Tavern was mentioned as a possibility as well, but we’d be pretty bummed about not being able to watch games there if it closed for the teams.

So, it looks like we’ll have to wait and see over the next few weeks to see which, if any, Edmonton restaurants become a part of the bubble. In the meantime, happy eating!
