Tuesday was a big night in Edmonton. The first Punjabi musician to not only played Rogers Place, but the concert also sold out! Diljit Dosanjh has taken the city by storm, and now he also gets his very own Edmonton Oilers jersey.

The singer and actor was presented with an Oilers South Asian jersey and custom Nikes to match before his massive show on the evening of May 7th.

Earlier this year, Dosanjh became the first Punjabi-speaking artist to perform at Coachella. He also played a historical show at BC Place in Vancouver.

The singer has also starred in and produced music for beloved Bollywood films like Udta Punjab, Good Newwz, and Dunki, and is best known for his 2020 album G.O.A.T., which was featured on Billboard’s Global Chart and trended in the Top 20 in Canada.

He will be playing Calgary next, on the evening of May 8th.

For now, he gets to cheer on the Oilers with the rest of us! Especially with that epic jersey. The Edmonton Oilers will go head-to-head against the Vancouver Canucks in round two of the Stanley Cup Playoffs starting Wednesday, May 8th.
