The CNE is known for its wacky and wild foodie creations, along with its almost endless food offerings.

If you tried last year’s inventions like the ketchup and mustard-flavoured ice cream, then you know you’re up for a strange yet deliciously exciting foodie adventure.

Pizza Pizza was the first to unveil its carnival creation this year — deep-fried, Dorito-covered pickle pizza. Dream come true or nightmare fuel? Try it and let us know!

We’re starting off strong with what is sure to be a hit this year with CNE food fanatics — deep-fried Oh Henry bars and cookie dough scoops. They’re covered in chocolate syrup for that extra bit of goodness and topped off with powdered sugar.

Cheeseburger and Street Corn soft serve?! Yeah, you read that right. We didn’t know such a thing was possible, but leave it to the CNE to find a way.

These wild creations are the brainchild of the creators behind the Ketchup and Mustard Ice Cream cones if you haven’t already guessed. The Cheese Burger ice cream is served in a cheese-coasted waffle cone, topped with a pretzel and pickle while the Street Corn ice cream features a lime, cotija cheese and chile seasoning.

Next up, we have a variety of loaded-up perogies, including Forkin’ Hot Chicken and Forkin’ Dill.

Feast your eyes on what is easily one of the wildest creations on offer!

This one-of-a-kind treat is called Yabba Dabba Curds featuring Fruity Pebbles, a fusion of colourful cereal and deep-fried Canadian cheese curds by The King of Curds.

The mixture of sweet and cheesy goodness is just the best combination in your mouth.

Next, we have a very hefty creation by Machette — the four-pound taco. It’s composed of a hard-shell taco with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, pico de gallo, avocado, tomatillo salsa, pineapple, chorizo and french fries. You’ll need a very big appetite for this one!

Of course, it wouldn’t be a true carnival eats menu without cotton candy, and this year’s feature flavour is dill pickle. Don’t knock it till you try it. The dill isn’t overpowering – there’s just a faint taste of it.

Take a look at San Franceso’s Holy Moly Cannoli! Talk about deep-fried goodness. This jumbo cinnamon cannoli is stuffed with veal cutlet, breaded and rolled in provolone cheese. It is then topped with provolone and pomodoro, garlic aioli, rainbow sprinkles and topped off with hickory sticks. Oh and don’t forget the sprinkles.

There are some unique corn dogs and hot dogs to try this year too, including the peanut butter corndog and Pickleback hot dog.

Fuwa Fuwa is taking their flapjack game to the next level with the pink dragonfruit fluffy pancake, which is topped with pink dragonfruit and strawberry whipped cream.

You can also pair it with a refreshing Pink Paradise beverage. On a hot summer day, you’ll definitely want one.

Behold, the Rick’s Good Eats CNE Special — Butter Chicken Overload!

This dish features tandoori fried chicken, butter chicken poutine and aioli sandwiched between two butter chicken samosas.

Now THAT’s a hefty meal but totally worth it.

Fries with that? Make some room in your belly for these foot-long garlic parmesan “freak fries.” These are pretty self-explanatory but they’re totally crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Bacon-covered chicken wings by Bacon Nation — a creation that’s only possible when pigs can fly, and also at the CNE. These bad boys are available in two flavours, Hot Lime Siracha and Sweet Honey Thai.

Got a sweet tooth? See if you can handle these ultra-decadent Dolce Inc. Factory Cheesecake beverages — B’Licious, Ferrero B’Licious and Biscoff Bazooka.

In this Ferrero B’Licious, it’s topped with a slice of cheesecake and even a soft-serve ice cream. How wild is that?!

These cookie-stuffed chimney cones by Eva’s Original Chimneys are a must-try.

They’re rolled in cookie crumbs with a sauce-stuffed centre like Drumsticks. They’re available in vegan options with premium oat soft serve, as well as real-cream dairy soft serve made locally in small batches.

They’re topped with a strawberry sugar cookie and strawberry wafer.

Krispy Kreme meets fried chicken. Pinch us, we must be dreaming!

Behold the Krispy Kreme blueberry chicken sandwich, featuring the signature crispy chicken breast by Epic Burgers, sandwiched between two classic Krispy Kreme glazed donuts and slathered in sweet and spicy whipped blueberry cream cheese.

And take a look at the summer fusion treat you didn’t know you needed — the watermelon burger! This combination features a juicy burger patty with feta, mint and spinach sandwiched between two watermelon slices. It’s then doused with balsamic glaze.

The CNE opens its doors on Wednesday, August 16th. The annual fair has announced exciting new things to come this year, including a Las Vegas-style fountain show and North America’s tallest travelling Ferris wheel.

There will also be a stacked lineup of concerts at the CNE Bandshell, and of course, returning favourites like the SuperDogs show, the Canadian International Air Show, and the spectacular Drone Show.
