We are just DAYS away from stepping foot inside one of Toronto’s most beloved end-of-summer events – The CNE. The beloved event draws millions of people annually to enjoy all the fun and excitement the CNE is known to offer. And like always, new attractions are making their way to the scene, and lucky for you, we’ve got the list! Here are all the new things to expect at the CNE this year.

This year’s CNE is going to be huge this year, running for two weeks from August 18th to September 4th. It’ll be jam-packed, but not just with people, with the new and exciting things to try from its wild food creations, concert performances to entertainment experiences, and more.

We already know that this year, visitors will be treated to an all-new fountain show at the CNE. This high-energy display is called Sparkling Symphony and it will light up the waterfront every day of the CNE.

The fountain show is described as “a daily choreographed spectacle on Lake Ontario that will combine high-energy music with 11 dancing fountains,” said the CNE in a press release.

And though we definitely are looking forward to that, there’s so much more up their sleeves this year, you can’t help but get excited. One of the biggest things to look forward to, literally, is the all-new Superwheel, the first and largest observation ride of its kind to hit the Toronto skyline.

According to the release, the 150-ft tall wheel features “36 enclosed observation pods that deliver spectacular 360 views of the city day or night.” Talk about views!

Here’s what else is making its way to the CNE this year:

Monster Compound Experience

A cut, a shave, and board tricks off a half pipe?! An all-new Monster Compound is coming to Bandshell Park, courtesy of Monster Energy. Expect daily performances from the Monster Energy Skateboard Team riding a custom-built halfpipe, racing simulators, live DJ sets, and the chance to cop a free fresh fade from the Monster Barber Shop! It’ll be available daily from 12 PM to 7 PM.

Ice Skating and Acrobatic Show: Time Flies

Catch world-class ice skaters, extreme skaters, and circus artists live in action, on ice! The show will feature special guest Elvis Stojko, a three-time World Champion, two-time Olympic silver medalist, and seven-time Canadian champion. It’ll be available daily starting at 2 PM and 5 PM at the Cola-Cola Coliseum.

Echoes of Entertainment: A Concert History of the CNE

“Immerse yourself in a captivating photographic journey, where the past comes alive through a spectacular showcase of the CNE’s iconic concerts, accompanied by an enchanting collection of music,” shares the CNE. Did you know that Freddie Mercury, Louis Armstrong, Sonny & Cher, and the Jackson 5 all performed at the CNE? You can enjoy its historic past daily from 12 PM to 9 PM at the Withrow Common.

National Geographic Exhibit

New at the CNE will be National Geographic’s exhibit: Pristine Seas. It takes a look at marine protected areas through photography and film and highlights its importance. Here you can get a look at the team’s expeditions of the Southern Line Islands coral reefs to the melting icebergs of the Antarctic. Find this at the Arts and Crafts Pavilion.

Selfie Hallway

Picture perfect ALWAYS! Snag some pics at the Selfie Hallway with its all-new creations like a giant floral aquarium, an 8-ft tall shimmer wall, and oversized models of iconic CNE foods like giant cotton candy and ice cream waffle. You can enjoy this experience inside the Enercare Centre, East side Heritage Court.

Cirque-tacular Spectacular

Catch an exciting display of talent at the Cirque-tacular Spectacular. Combining trampoline, gymnastics, and aerial acrobatics, this high-energy show is one you don’t want to miss. Find them outside of the Enercare Centre Hall B.

As for returning events, those include Celebrity Kitchen Stage with some of Toronto’s favourite restauranteurs and TV personalities, the Food Truck Frenzy & Craft Beer Fest with more than 20 vendors, the annual Canadian International Air Show, SuperDogs, and more.
