We know that’s a terrible hint, but we wanted to have some fun with it. Alongside Greek islands, Asian hot spots, and even the Galapagos, it was actually Cape Breton Island that got the nod this year!
The list comes from the ‘World’s Best’ roundup from Travel + Leisure, which is also behind the best resort and city hotels for Canada specifically. The island competition though? That’s a global affair, with readers ranking their top picks based on things like activities, natural attractions, food, and overall value.

Maybe the most impressive part? Cape Breton Island landed in the top 10! It’s sandwiched between two picks from Philippines- Boracay and Palawan. What’s more, it beat out some of the most famous islands in the world, including Ibiza, Maui, and The Azores. Not bad company to be in.

Of course, we can see why it got the nod. Cape Breton Island mixes some stunning natural beauty with a hearty history and welcoming locals. And, it doesn’t hurt that it’s home to one of the best golf courses in the world, either.
While this spot in Canada getting the nod as one of the best islands in the world, we might have to revise next year’s travel plans!
