Another day, another road closure, Calgary! Since HBO’s The Last Of Us started filming in and around Alberta, we’ve seen busy streets, bridges and greenspaces completely transformed from inner-city hotspots and traffic-heavy roads to a zombie, camera, and fandom-ready wasteland – but they’re far from wrapping things up in these parts.

From Sunday, October 31st until November 5th, camera crews will occupy Centre B Street at 13th Avenue NW daily from 9 am to 10 pm. This will also be the case from November 2nd to 3rd along 455 6 Street SW from 7 am to 11 pm, according to the city’s website.

Due to these particular road closures, we’d suggest that you get up and out of the house a little earlier during the week and that you keep your eyes peeled because we’ve seen some crazy things since they rolled into town!

Starring Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, Narcos) as Joel, a smuggler and Bella Ramsey (Game Of Thrones) as his much younger companion Ellie, Alberta-shot The Last Of Us is expected to be the most expensive TV show in history – meaning the set design for this show has been immaculate and the scenes have been explosive (not literally, of course.)

Now, as we mentioned above, this likely will not be the last Calgary road closures until they finish filming in June of 2022, so it’s important that you be patient, be prepared, and that you continue to be respectful!

This is huge for Alberta – so let’s do what we can to keep ’em here for another few seasons. It’ll be all worth it when we see our big city on the small screen!
