Halloween in Calgary can be a gamble weather-wise. After the snow that hit the city this week, you might expect another chilly Halloween, but the latest forecast suggests otherwise.

According to Environment Canada, Calgary could still see flurries into Thursday morning before conditions start to improve.

By the weekend, however, the city could see a high of 8°C and sunny skies on Oct. 31.

Now let’s take a further look at what the weather could have in store for us this weekend.

What will Calgary’s weather be like on Halloween?

According to Environment Canada’s forecast issued on Wednesday, Oct. 28, the city is expected to reach a high of 8°C. That’s a pretty noticeable change from the snowy, gloomy conditions we’ve had for the first half of the week.

Friday’s forecast is sunny, with a high of 1°C, so if you’re heading out on Halloween Eve, you might want to add an extra layer or two. However, temperatures are expected to drop to around -1°C overnight on Saturday, according to Environment Canada.

So, while the daytime forecast looks promising, if you’re heading out for evening activities, you’ll still want to bundle up for trick-or-treating.

Things look even better heading into next week, with Environment Canada forecasting a sunny high of 13°C on Monday, Nov. 2. So if you’re already over the sudden return of winter, a little redemption arc might be in store!

What’s happening in Calgary on Halloween night?

If you’re looking for something to do this Halloween, several events are happening around the city. Here are a few to check out:

  • The Crypt and The Crow
    • When: Thursday, Oct. 1 to Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026
    • Time: 10:30 a.m. to midnight
    • Where: TOPS Pizza — 9919 Fairmount Dr. SE, Calgary, Alta.
    • Cost: Free to make reservations

Of course, Calgary weather always keeps us guessing, but a sunny Halloween would be a pretty sweet treat after a week of snow. Fingers crossed the forecast stays that way.

If anything changes, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Have a great Halloween, Calgary!
