With the US border set to reopen to travellers next week, there’s no doubt that some of its winter destinations are going to be getting some international love. Luckily, the state of Hawai’i released new guidance for people looking to take a little getaway over the winter. Here’s what to know.
If you’re flying directly to Hawai’i, you’ll need two things to gain entry. First up, you must have verified vaccination records on hand showing full vaccination. Second, you’ll need to show a negative COVID-19 test (NAAT or antigen) within three days of your flight there.

Effective Nov. 8, 2021. The State of Hawaii will welcome all vaccinated international travelers who follow the travel protocols outlined below. For more details, please visit: https://t.co/SjvFPqCtL3. pic.twitter.com/q4kw5G8jt4

Luckily, once those requirements are met, travellers will not be subjected to quarantine measures before they’re able to enjoy their stay. So, you’ll be able to hang out on the beach all day long from the moment that you land. Not so bad, if we say so ourselves!
