On Monday, superstar actor Ryan Reynolds took to Instagram to say that filming was winding down for his new film The Adam Project, but he did it in a special way. Why? Well, because this was the inaugural film for The Group Effort Initiative, which Reynolds himself started. Here’s a little more info.

Back in 2020, Reynolds announced The Group Effort Initiative to try and support BIPOC individuals who are interested in learning more about the film industry. They basically showed up each day to learn from the professionals on set, and were paid to do so out of Reynolds’ own salary.

It was a pretty sweet setup, and Reynolds thought so as well. In his caption, the actor thanked the trainees for bringing ‘big time talent to the playing field’. Regardless of a social media post or not, it is nice to see a celebrity walk the walk when it comes to supporting marginalized or otherwise disadvantaged people.

So, here’s hoping that this is just the start of a larger trend! We’re looking forward to seeing it happen.
