A new weekend is always welcome but this one is going to be a little extra special. Because it turns out we’ll all be able to catch a glimpse of a super moon with a pretty bizarre name. This weekend, keep your eyes peeled for the Full Worm Moon.

We’re not going to lie, the name definitely makes us think of something zombie-esq rising from the ground in the middle of the night. But the Super Worm Moon actually gets its name from the fact that the ground is thawing. You know, spring and all that?

You can see the phenomenon starting on March 28th at 2:48 p.m. EDT. Obviously the darker it gets, the better you’ll be able to see it. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Sunday afternoon and evening to see the third full moon of the year.

If you’d like to learn more about the Full Worm Moon you can click here. And if this full moon’s name isn’t appealing to you, don’t worry because the next one is happening in April and has a much nicer name. With that, we hope you get out there and take a peek because these moons only happen once a year. Enjoy folks!
