Hello and welcome to the second installment of our guide to breweries around Vancouver. This week, we’re tackling another popular neighbourhood. While the breweries in Mt. Pleasant might have a little more space between them, there are still enough to fill your day.

Here are 7 breweries to check out in Mt. Pleasant.

33 Acres

33 pizza

Arguably the best looking brewery in the city, 33 Acres has a great food menu and tap list to go alongside it. We’ve had a hard time finding a better french blanche than 33 Acres of Sunshine, making it a perfect summer stop.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9AM-11PM and Saturday/Sunday, 10AM-11PM
Where: 15 W 8th Avenue

Big Rock Brewing

Originally from Alberta, Big Rock is technically one of the largest ‘craft’ brewers in Canada. It’s hard to compete in Vancouver’s scene, but we think you should check them out at least once and see what the heck Alberta gets up to, aside from trying to salvage the oil and gas industry. Good luck with that.

Hours: Monday to Wednesday, 11AM-10PM, Friday/Saturday, 11AM-11PM, Saturday, 12PM-11PM and Sunday, 12PM-10PM
Where: 310 W 4th Avenue

Brassneck Brewery

brassneck

A delicious, low capacity tasting room that offers flights of 4 6oz pours for $8. We recommend going immediately after work on weekdays or early afternoon on weekends because nobody likes to wait for beer and these guys get busy.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 2PM-11PM and Saturday/Sunday, 12PM-11PM
Where: 2148 Main Street

Brewhall

brewhall

A new concept from Tap & Barrel that feels a little corporate to us but is still worth checking out. This is a great spot to go with a big group, as they have a massive open space filled, complete with arcade games.

Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 11AM-12AM and Friday/Saturday, 11AM-1AM
Where: 97 E 2nd Avenue

Electric Bicycle

A pretty darn eclectic brewery, but we keep coming back to try all of their amazing grilled cheese options. Honestly- good craft beer and homemade grilled cheese? It’s a match made in heaven, and might just be a weekly staple for us this summer.

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 2PM-11PM, and Friday to Sunday, 11PM-12AM
Where: 20 E 4th Avenue

Main Street Brewing Co.

These guys have made a name for themselves since opening in 2010. They’ve got a really solid lineup of year-round taps, and are constantly trying out new recipes. A couple of pints and some organic chicken wings? Yes, please.

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 2PM-11PM, and Friday to Saturday, 12PM-11PM
Where: 261 E 7th Avenue

R&B Brewing Co.

One of Vancouver’s original microbreweries, R&B has been holding it down since 1997. On that alone they deserve support, but then they mix in some amazing pizzas and keep their taps rotating. It’s a winning combo in our eyes.

Hours: Sunday to Tuesday, 11AM-11PM and Wednesday to Saturday, 11AM-12AM
Where: 1-54 E 4th Avenue

And that’s our guide for Mt. Pleasant! Stay tuned as we continue to work our way through the city in the coming weeks.
