The first annual U District Cherry Blossom Festival kicks off this Friday

The best way to celebrate Seattle’s cherry blossoms is, of course, by visiting them. But it doesn’t hurt to enjoy a little bit of extra celebration, especially when it’s a new festival. The first annual U District Cherry Blossom Festival kicks off this Friday and you don’t want to miss it!

The main focus here is the blossoms. But the festival also has some enticing offerings like drink specials, eats, and shopping opportunities. Some of the drink specials you can snag include a Cherry Lemon Blossom Saison from Big Time Brewery, a Vodka-Up Cherry Blossom Cocktail from Agua Verde Café, and even a Cherry Blossom Mocha from Café Allegro.

When it comes to eats you can enjoy a Cherry Bucket Combo from BB.Q Chicken, a Pink Cherry Blossom Noodle Soup from Kai’s Thai Street Food & Bar, and Sakura Ice Cream from Sweet Alchemy Ice Creamery. The full list of drinks and eats specials for the festival is quite long so you can try a few different offerings while it’s running.

When it comes to shopping you can stop into several local businesses to pick up prints, gear, and more all centered on the beautiful cherry blossoms. If you need even more from this fest you can also partake in the Cherry Blossom Run, and visit the waterfront Cantina Bloom Garden. Sounds like the perfect way to start spring!
