Is it just us, or has this week really flown by? We’re now into the first few days of fall, and there’s plenty on our radar for the weekend, whether you’re looking for a live show, an art exhibit, or want to get inspired for your home decor. Here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this weekend (Sept. 25-27).
This one’s for lovers of all things interior design. IDS Vancouver is the West Coast’s must-visit event, bringing together Canada’s top architects, interior designers, makers, manufacturers, and design enthusiasts for four days of exhibitions and keynote talks at the Vancouver Convention Centre. If you’re curious about what makes Vancouver’s design community tick, this is the place to connect with new people and peruse some incredible immersive installations.
Highlights include an entrance feature exhibition by Stark Architecture called Reflection, and the Central Bar by Vancouver-based Synthesis Design Architecture, which stands at the heart of the show.

From now until Oct. 1, you can check out 100 original artworks by emerging Canadian artists at the Pendulum Gallery in support of Arts Umbrella’s programming for children and youth. Visitors who want to bring a piece home can place their bids online, but it’s completely free to check out this neat local exhibition.

It’s also CFL season! This Friday, the Lions are up against the Saskatchewan Roughriders at BC Place.

GRAMMY-winning artist Chance the Rapper is bringing his 10th anniversary tour to Vancouver’s Freedom Mobile Arch this Friday, Sept. 25. He is known for hits like “No Problem,” “Blessings,” and “Same Drugs.”

The B-52s are an iconic rock band that have performed globally for decades, and they’re coming to Rogers Arena this weekend on Sunday, Sept. 27.

The Vancouver Flamenco Fest is celebrating over 35 years with a stunning array of dance and music performances deeply rooted in the traditions and aesthetics of the global flamenco scene.
This week, you can check out a myriad of free masterclasses by Flamenco experts from across the globe, with options for beginner, intermediate, and advanced dance levels.

The Improv Centre has a new show to check out starting this weekend called Deadly Dinner Party, and it’s going to get juicy. When the host of the show is mysteriously “murdered,” suspicion falls on everyone onstage. Detectives will interrogate each guest to solve the crime before it’s too late.

Canada’s largest public participation campaign for the arts, BC Culture Days, is back and better than ever this year. Running from Sept. 18 to Oct. 4, there are thousands of events to check out across B.C., including stand-up comedy, an abstract art exhibition, historic walking tours, art and sip socials, and so much more.

The Vancouver Maritime Museum is still running its immersive sailing experiences that explore Vancouver’s fascinating maritime past and present, and the views alone are well worth it.
