A new cafe and gelato spot just opened in Fairview & here’s what to expect

Looking for a new spot to hit before heading to Granville Island on a busy day? Enter Tru Cafe – the newest Starbucks replacement following the string of closures across Canada last year. The new coffee shop doubles as a gelato spot, serving a range of caffeinated bevies and treats, gelato, and affogato.

The locally-owned brand set up shop at 1500 West 2nd Avenue, and has now officially opened its doors to the public.

In terms of food, we think their cookies deserve a mention. With unique combos like grapefruit ginger and classic hits like maple walnut and vegan chocolate chip – there’s definitely a cookie for every craving. They even have overnight oats perfect for a grab-and-go situation.

Although their website still says “coming soon,” folks can stay up to date on tasty offerings via Tru Cafe’s socials.

That’s all for now, folks! We hope you get out there and enjoy some locally-roasted coffee and/or gelato sometime soon.
