We’re in for a toasty week, folks! And by toasty, we mean scorching. Thankfully, we’ve got plenty of ways to stay cool by way of public pools, splash parks, and more. As far as other things to do around Vancouver go – we’ve got plenty of options there too! Here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver from July 25th and 29th.
This one’s a no-brainer. Of course, don’t skimp out on the sunscreen – but sunbathing for an hour or two with a good book in hand sounds like the quintessential Vancouver summer experience we’ve been sorely missing this year.

Great news, coffee lovers. Deville Coffee is opening four new locations in Vancouver, and the first is slated to open this Friday, July 22nd! The waterfront spot will feature local, third-wave coffee, treats from Lee’s donuts and bites from Beaucoup bakery.

Sunny days mean more opportunities to sit out on a patio by the water (preferably with a glass of vino in hand). With so many stunning waterfront options in the city alone, the only challenge will be choosing one to sprawl out on!

In addition to catching a showing of Something Rotten! this week, folks can head back to the Malkin Bowl at Stanley Park for the official kickoff of Vancouver Pride week: TUTS’ Pride Night! Get ready to celebrate Queer icon, Freddie Mercury, with a selection of Queen’s greatest hits a la We Will Rock You

Speaking of Pride Week, we’ve got another fun mid-week event to get the party going. Vancouver Pride Society is hosting a neighbourhood patio at Bentall Centre complete with refreshing cocktails, music, and drag performances from local faves like Jerrilynn Spears and Chronfused.

What better way to unwind after work than to get out on the water with a couple of boards and paddles? Thankfully, we live in a very rental-friendly city – with paddle board and kayak rentals at practically every waterfront spot imaginable.

Midnight Sun Fireworks is an award-winning team of Yukon Pyrotechnicians, AKA- firework wizards. Stop by English Bay for a stroll by the beach, and hang out at the grandstand for what is sure to be a breathtaking show.

It’s no secret that The Cultch has some of the neatest, most underground art exhibits and shows in the city. Why not see what’s on and check out some cool art? Plus, there’s air conditioning.
