As we head into the weekend, check out the Young Company in a reimagining of J. M. Barrie’s classic for kids and kids-at-heart! Expect this Peter Pan to be a “lively musical adaptation” where the actors create “magic out of simple props, accompanying the show with an array of live instruments and taking the audience on an awfully big adventure.”

Celebrated every year on May 25th, Afrika Day is a day of rejoicing for Africans and people of African descent worldwide, according to organizers. And this year, Edmonton’s UBUNTU Festival’s two-day celebration is taking place this weekend right in the heart of the North Edge Business District.

PRISON DANCER

Prison Dancer is a musical by Filipino-Canadian creators Romeo Candido and Carmen De Jesus. It is based on a viral video from 2007, showing 1,500 inmates in a Philippines prison dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” It’s the last week to catch it!
