After over a year of partial or total closures, and even a new owner, the Vancouver Aquarium is finally set to reopen! Even without guests for most of 2020 and all of 2021 (so far), the past few months have been a whirlwind for the iconic Vancouver attraction.

And today, the new owners finally revealed that they’re ready to reopen. Following months of updates, the Aquarium now has a brand new exhibit for guests, and one that’s close to home. The Marine Mammal Rescue will offer an inside look at the people saving up to 150 marine mammals every year. And of course, you’ll see some of the animals currently being treated.

The other major addition? A 4D theatre for documentaries and movies. Here, guests will be treated to sound, smell, touch, lights and weather effects for a truly immersive experience. And first up is an adaptation of the octopus narrative from Blue Planet II, which was only created earlier this year. Sorry, but watching it from your couch has nothing on this.

The Vancouver Aquarium will be open to the public on Monday, August 16th, and you can book your timeslots now. However, the truly devoted (AKA new and existing members) can book timeslots this weekend for an early peek. Whatever you choose, we can’t wait to return to this longstanding Vancouver attraction.
