The ‘Schitt’s Creek’ cast had the funniest teleprompter fail at the Emmys last night (VIDEO)

We could watch this on repeat all day. The Schitt’s Creek cast took the stage at Sunday night’s 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards and they couldn’t resist the opportunity to make it a Rose family moment.

The castmates were called up to present the award for best writing for a comedy series but to their horror, there was nothing on the teleprompter. “Thank you so much but there’s nothing on the prompter,” Dan Levy announced with his classic David Rose sass, and hilarity ensued.

“Is there like a tech guy or something?” Annie Murphy asked. After waiting awkwardly and bickering about what to do next, Eugene Levy suggested that maybe this was being done to them on purpose, which made his son suspicious.

“Why would anyone want to embarrass us on national television on purpose?” Dan asked his dad.

“Eugene, did you do something?” Catherine O’Hara asked, which made the audience burst into laughter. Levy Sr. finally admitted that he may have asked the writers to “lift the dialogue.” Needless to say, Dan was mortified.

The nominees were announced and Dan presented the winner for the category — the writing team from Hacks.

The funny and almost-believable bit was a reminder of their recent success at the Emmys, with Schitt’s Creek sweeping the comedy category and taking home 7 awards at the 72nd Primetime Awards in 2020.

We may miss the Rose family to pieces, but thankfully, this isn’t the last we’ll be seeing of this beloved cast on our TV screens. Dan Levy just inked a major deal with Netflix to create original shows and movies on the platform.

Until then, we’ll be rewatching all 6 seasons from start to finish and praying for a reboot.
