Love seeing just how much of a sentence you can turn into emojis? Well, get excited because over 100 new emoji combos are coming to iOS 15 and Android users. Now just when these emojis will be released is unclear but possibly as early as iOS 15.1 coming this year.

Now, where do emojis actually come from? Good question. They come from the Unicode Consortium, “a non-profit corporation devoted to developing, maintaining, and promoting software internationalization standards and data.” With each Unicode update comes new emojis for companies like Apple, Google, and more to choose from and draft up their own versions.

And it looks like Apple will have its hands full for a bit because the Unicode 14.0 update includes 37 new emojis for companies to copy. So how does that add up to over 100 new emoji combinations? Well, new emojis like figures and handshakes will all have skin tone variations meaning there are 112 variations in total.

Beyond the new figures and handshakes, you’ll find a melting face, mirror ball, lily pad, beans, and more. You can see the samples above and keep in mind that when it comes to Apple, their final versions are usually much more detailed. After all, these are just a draft of what’s been approved.
