Beloved Vancouver bar that was set to close will now stay open & it’s celebrating all week

We’ve no doubt been looking forward to the month of May for a while now, but for many of us, April 30th marked the end of an era. Last month, The Boxcar announced that it would be closing its doors after the building was acquired by new owners, with “slim chances” of working something out. Hearts were shattered across Vancouver.

However, a surprising turn of events took place over the weekend. The Boxcar announced that they have officially signed a lease with their new landlords! We know, it almost sounds too good to be true!

This means that Vancouver’s beloved Main Street bar, social hub, and adjacent Pizzeria Farina are here to stay until the building comes down (which is hopefully never). Time to celebrate with some after-work brews and delicious, authentic Italian pizza!

With summer rapidly approaching, the re-opening could not have come at a better time. We can’t think of a better place to kick off patio season than The Boxcar’s gorgeous back patio!
