Vancouver just entered an immediate need for blood and here’s how you can help

Here’s an urgent call out to all Vancouverites. Canadian Blood Services needs your help. The blood bank is looking for donors in order to be able to meet the needs of Canadian patients in the coming months.

There are over 600 free appointments in Van this month alone. And they are requesting everyone to book theirs STAT.

You can do so on their website at blood.ca, via the GiveBlood App or by calling 1-888-2-DONATE. Same-day appointments are available at their two main Vancouver locations

  • 4750 Oak Street (beside BC Children’s hospital)
  • 2nd floor-888 Dunsmiur St (downtown)

The entire visit takes just about an hour. This includes paperwork, donating (which BTW is just 10-15 mins of the actual process), resting and enjoying refreshments. If you’re looking to find out more, here are 8 facts about donating

You can also part-take in one of the many community donation events happening around town. There are some 30+ donation centres in and around Vancouver. Check out the full list of centres here.

So, spread the word, grab your friends and head over to one of these blood donation centres RN.
