Uh oh, folks. Yesterday, one of Vancouver’s best bars, The Boxcar, released a surprise announcement that all signs point to their current location closing. What’s more, you’ve only got a month to go enjoy it if it does. Here’s what to know.

As you can probably guess, the building that The Boxcar is a part of has been sold to new owners. And, the new owners have told the bar that they’ve only got a month left to operate before they’ve gotta be out. Apparently, they are going to try and work something out, but “chances are slim.”

Having opened in 2014, the bar on Main Street soon became a must-visit spot for anyone in the know. Over the years, it’s been an amazing spot to enjoy craft beer, local wines, and delicious cocktails. Especially in the summer months, when the patio out back was open and the room was filled with good energy.

So yeah, we’re pretty bummed to have heard the news. If nothing changes, then The Boxcar will be closing up shop at the end of April. Make sure to get down there one (or three) more times before that happens!

When: Slated to close Sunday, April 30th
Where: 923 Main Street
